MacOS X - not just a pretty face, but a Cinema 4D face - Steve Jobs runs Apple and Pixar. Apple makes MacOS X, and Pixar makes 3D. Did Pixar make 3D icons for the MacOS X interface? No - Cinema 4D did, our old fellow project.
Surprise, surprise (really?): Cinema 4D, the software we helped develop in 1998-2001, is the originator of the 3D icons used in MacOS X. Cesar Carrera , a well renowned New York interface designer, has created these little marvels for Apple with Cinema . Clearly the screenshots on his page demonstrate this.
I'll ask Cesar to confirm this and will include it in my upcoming Cinema 7 review for MacUp. (May 31., 2001, )
